How I keep my red hair....RED.

Hello.

I have had my hair red for a couple of months now and it's time to do a update and let you know how it's going!?!

It's not as bright as it first was the first time I dyed it because I'm not using bleach anymore, I'm just going over it with the XXL Live Scandalous Scarlet hair dye every time I need my roots done.
It comes out a really deep cherry colour.

How often do you dye it?

I dye it every couple of months when need my roots doing and by that time it has faded.
I don't need to use bleach for this colour. I have only used bleach once when I first dyed it because I was going from a brown to a red, the reason I don't do this anymore because when it fades it's sooo easy to go over it with a standard red dye you wish to have because you already have your base colour and also your roots are new hair that has never been dyed before so they should take really well.

How do you keep it from fading?

Theres a few things I do to stop it from fading, firstly you have to buy a colour protect shampoo.
I didn't get the most expensive one ever but it works and does its job perfectly,
I got the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo with the matching Conditioner and also the Masque.
In my opinion I think washing your hair in very cold water keeps it from fading the most, if you have red or any colour that fades quickly its up to you if you want to do this (it can be torchering especially in the winter).
Other ways I find that help are avoiding washing your hair, let it get greasy now and again it may sound gross but it protects it and makes your hair very healthy.

If you are planing to dye your hair a crazy colour hope I have given you some tips and tricks and good luck!
