My Shabby Chic Project...

Welcome to my latest project!!
I have this old, chipped and boring table that I was going to throw out as I didn't have a need for it. I used it for a silly amount of time as a laptop table, was only meant to be a temporary thing until I brought a proper one but I didn't seem to get around to doing that, but finally I did get one.

The time came to throw it out and my partner said "are you sure you can't use it for something else?", then I thought "Yes! I could paint it white. Shabby Chic themed."

Before!

This is what the table looked like before it's makeover, as you can see it's old, ugly, boring and chipped all over the place and in need for some TLC.

First Coat
Picture taken just after first layer of paint. You can see it was still chipped and the original colour was coming through in places. I lifted it to dry over night before putting the next coat of paint on.

The Turn Out
Turn Out Close Up

It turned out great! It's like a brand new table, all the chips have gone, it doesn't look old and depressing like it did before.
It's amazing how you can bring back a table life with just a lick of paint and make it look modern and sleek.
Think before you go throwing out your old furniture on how to make it look better and giving it a new life.

I got New Glasses!

That time came around again, another eye test.
I have my eye tests every 2 years so I was really happy to finally get new glasses as my old ones were getting really lose.

But anyway I got the OSIRIS B40 from Specsavers.

The reason I choose these are because I like the big nerd indie style frames, they are very modern and look really stylish. I am very pleased with them and love the orange colours.
I wear my glasses for reading and watching TV only, I don't wear them all the time.

Skin Therapy 3 in 1 Facial Wipes

Hey everyone!! :)

Today I'm going to show you an alternative or cheaper, facial wipes.

I came across these when I couldn't find any other bigger brands on offer, they were 2 for £1 which is really cheap for how good they are! So I brought my first pack of 2 for £1 and I tried them out and thought they were great, so the next time I went in I brought more!! 6 Packs more to stock up my beauty supply.

If I didn't know better I would say these were branded facial wipes.

The actual wipe is thick (not thin like other cheaper wipes I have tried) and if you look closely you can see the circular detailing that claims to cleanse, tone, moisturize and delicately fragrance your skin, all in one go and they do leave my skin feeling soft and refreshed.
I got the fragranced pack and they do smell very nice but if fragranced is not for you or you have sensitive or irritated skin they also do fragrance free aswell.

RED!!

Hello everybody!! It's been along time since I last made a post (about a month), the reason for this is my laptop has been having a few problems lately and I have been trying to get it fixed.

Anyway enough about that!

I named this post RED because I have dyed my hair red... like WOW 'RED'.

This is the second time I had dyed my hair red. The first time I had it for about a year and a half, the reason my hair colour changed because I went blonde for a while, than I got pregnant with my son and I couldn't keep up with retouching the roots every month with a small baby, so I had to keep it simple and mangable and go back to my natural hair colour Dark Brown.

But recently I have wanted to go back to that lovely colour red ...
So I did!!

First I had to decide how I was going to do this! I knew just putting a dye on it wouldn't take and I would be lefted with a brown auburn colour. I wanted a more notable and bright red so I had to pre-bleach it first. I put two boxes of L'Oreal Preference - Les Blondissimes Extreme Platinum Dye on my hair and I hoped for the best!.
I lefted the bleach on for the recommended time which was about 40 minutes.
When I toke it off my roots where platinum blonde and the middle to the tips where a light brown orange color, I was happy about that because I didn't think it was going as light as it did.

I didn't dye my hair straight away after bleaching it, I lefted it 2-3 days before I put the red on.
I used the new XXL HD Intense Colour Permanent 33 Scandalous Scarlet.

I made up the bottle and it looked bright orange so by this time I was starting to get nervous as I didn't want my hair to go that colour, I put it on anyway and I
wrapped my head in tin foil to keep it all in place. Every 10 minutes I checked to see the results and it was getting redder YAY panic over! I lefted it on for about a hour and half, not the recommended time of 20-30 minutes.
I'm happy with the outcome and I'm loving being back red :)

Just Another Lingerie Haul

Hey, Just a quick post to show you what I got in my letter box today!

At the weekend I had a little look in the Ann Summers Sale again and got a few things.

Volume Boost Black Cami Suspender

The Volume Boost Black Cami Suspender is a perfect fit and looks great on! I love how it feels and it is very comfortable to wear.
For something that was £50 pounds and brought in the sale at a AMAZING £10 pounds you cant go wrong absolute bargain.

Volume Boost Black Strapless Bra

Next up is this Volume Boost Black Strapless Bra from the same collection as the Cami Suspender. It's really similar as it has the same Bra which is connected to the Suspender with it's same soft silk material.
Original price was £30 pounds, again I got this in the sale with 75% and an extra 10% off which made this only £4.50.

In Control Leo Skirt

I love this In Control Leo Skirt, The skirt is high-waisted and  tight-fitting to pull you in at the waist and knocks inches off you giving you a really nice shape.
I brought this because I really liked the leopard print pattern and it's actually from the same collection as the Bra and Cami, it goes really well with the Volume Boost Bra.

With 75% off makes this £6.50.

My Dressing Table

I'm a really happy girly!! I have wanted a dressing table for ever, so now I have a bigger bedroom I thought I'm going to treat myself and get the long a waited dresser!
I wanted something vintage and unusual! Then I found a little brand called Shabby Chic and I fell in love with it. It's a little vintage brand that is a form of interior design where modern furniture and other home wear have a appearance of wear and tear for a tatty, old and distressed look.

I have been shopping around online for one for about two months and I seen so many I liked but I didnt feel that they were the perfect one.

Untill I came across this little beauty...

I purchased this on eBay, brand new and from a reliable seller and the service was really good with next day delivery, I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it and make it my own with all my beauty products!

Primark False French Nails

I'm a false nail virgin. I have never gotten them done professionally or never brought a home kit, Until now..
After seeing a lot of other fashion & beauty blogs raving about them I fought I'll give them a try!

I'm really glad I did because at just £1 pounds, these are really good quality and look expensive.
They are really easy to put on with the glue you get with it, not sure how long the glue lasts but I'm thinking about get some stronger glue so they stay on a little bit longer.

Being my first time trying out false nails I can say I'm really impressed with them and will be heading back to Primark very soon to pick up more patterns and designs.

Drugstore Make-Up

I was slowly running out of make-up, so I went shopping for a top-up, not wanting to spend a lot because of all the money we spent on moving and decorating the new house, I decided to try some drugstore brands rather then the expensive brands like Chanel, Dior etc...

This is what I got

I picked up the Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara and it's a bargin at £7.99, It makes my lashes look even bigger than they already are with no clumps and doesn't make them stick together like some mascaras I have tried, and I have to say it reminds me of the Benefit They're Real mascara!!

I also picked up the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation at £7.99, I got the 100 Ivory shade as my skin is quite fair. I choose this one as I heard it gives good coverage, which it does. I have been wearing it a lot the last couple of days, but I have no idea if it actually lasts the 25 hours as slated, I don't wear make-up for that amount of time (who does?!)

Lastly another Rimmel product that is the Match Perfection Foundation was slightly cheaper at £6.99, I haven't yet tried this one yet but I am curious to see the results, as it gives you "traceless coverage with Advanced Smart-Tone Technology reveals a perfectly flawless you, no matter what the light".

Moving House

Today is the viewing of me and my partner's new house and also we get the keys
FINALLY!!!
Me and my partner won this house about a month and half ago and we were so pleased to move as we were living in a one bedroom flat which is very tiny and cramped, especially with our son.
Waiting to move felt like forever, the days felt like weeks while waiting for that phone call.

Things will be so much better having a house, Billie-Joe will have a garden to play in and things will be a lot more spacious.

. We both will probably miss this place we called home for 4 plus years. We have had some amazing memories that we will never forget.
This was Billie's first home and as he gets older he probably won't remember any of this, which is upsetting as he's spent his first 2 years here.

Goodbye No. 44

But now we are looking forward to a new chapter in our new house and making more happy memories!!!

As i'm going to be busy with decorating and getting my internet reconnected, I might not be blogging for awhile.
I will try and keep you updated as much as I can, But in till then

Cya soon & Thanks for Looking...

Monthly Favorites : July / 2013

Am going to start with the thing I have loved this month, come to think of it what I love and use all the time.
Which is my Pink Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.
I have had these for a looong time now and I'm still very impressed with the quality and sounds that come with the highly good looking product, I use them most days and they never fail to impress me.
I still love them like the first day I got them and they are still going strong, hopefully for a couple more years.

Pink Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones

This month I have also been enjoying watching Disney films with my son on LOVEFILM instant . He's more interested in animated films recently and has got me watching them all with him.
His personal favorite is Pooh's Heffalump Movie, he watches it all the way through and I don't hear a sound out of him (only when he giggles). ☺

Shopping Haul

Hello! Today I'm going to show you a little Shopping Haul.

First, Is this Black and Pink pretty long lined Bra!!

Long line Bra's, I think there are all the rang at the minute as I have seen them everywhere but anyway I actually brought this online from Ann Summers (from the Fantine Collection), when they had a huge 75% off sale. It originally was £30 but I got it for £10 which is a amazing bargain.

Second, Are these Black Disco Pants!!

Disco Pants are this season's must haves and I finally got a pair.
I got these from Primark as they were pretty cheap compared to the original American Apparel ones that retail at a whopping £74 which is pretty expensive for a legging kinda trouser.
The Primark dupes are pretty close as you can get to AA ones, they have the font button and the two back packets and that same shiny effect for only £16.
-

Thirdly, Chamilia Bracelet!!

Wanted to get a Charm Bracelet forever but never got round to it and didn't know which brand I liked best, theres so many to choose from Pandora, Chamilia, Troll, Lovelinks. They all offer the same quality bracelets and beads, you can't really say ones better than the other because they are all good in there different ways.
In the end I went for the Chamilia bracelet just because they did Disney charms thats my only reason and it also fits Pandora and Lovelinks charms which I didn't know untill now.
